I was at the spa today and a thought came to me...why don't more black women do this more often? Having spoken to many black women about this subject, many think, it's either a luxury or a pretentious lifestyle, too expensive, they don't have the time or it's a 'white' thing. We need to stop giving into these beliefs and accept the fact that, activities like going to the spa, exercising, fitness and watching your dietary and nutritional intake is for our white counterparts. Unfortunately what this does is limit our wellbeing and overall wellness.
Getting a massage, getting a pedicure or a manicure is not just a white activity, it's a human activity. Something that every woman can benefit from to allow them to relax, unwind and get a better perspective on life.
Life is for the living, but you are not going to get any true or meaningful living done, if you always have the mentality that it is not for you and always for others.
